The Giving Circle of Alexandria
The Giving Circle is a diverse group of women who are invested and engaged in their community. They believe that confronting the City’s high priority issues collectively and strategically is the best means to inspire social change. With an annual matching grant of $25,000, ACT has helped The Giving Circle increase their membership and impact around early childhood education. In 2009, ACT and The Giving Circle co-invested in a city-wide playgroup initiative to expand a collaborative playgroup model around the City.

ACT launched our 2010 Nonprofit Capacity Building Grant program on October 21, 2009 at the Nonprofit Excellence Forum. Our grant program supports excellence in nonprofit management through investments in consultants, operations and infrastructure.
Click below to learn about the grant opportunities currently available. Deadline to apply is noon, November 20, 2009.
ACT has given out over $400,000 in capacity building grants since 2005. There will be a brief training on the grant applications that is required for nonprofits interested in applying for an ACT grant. For nonprofits unable to attend the Forum, a second training will be offered on Tuesday, October 27th. Click here to register for the October 27th training.
