Center for Alexandria's Children

Center for Alexandria's Children logoIn 2008, there were 1,096 reports of child abuse and/or neglect in Alexandria.  These statistics do not take into account the number of cases that are never reported. The Center for Alexandria’s Children protects children and strengthens families by coordinating the investigation, prosecution, treatment and prevention of child abuse in one safe, child-friendly facility. The CAC is a public-private partnership dedicated to one purpose: the elimination of child abuse in the City of Alexandria.

ACT Now Fund

ACT Now Fund logoIn the current economic climate, there is an unprecedented need for assistance in the Alexandria community. Many people are suffering and need our help. The ACT Now Fund is part of the Give Alexandria Campaign, a partnership including the City of Alexandria, Volunteer Alexandria, and the Alexandria Council of Human Service Organizations. ACT's goal is to build a community network that will give Alexandrians a place where they can donate their money, time and resources.

The ACT Now Fund is a temporary fund set up to help the city's nonprofits meet basic human needs in our community, such as emergency financial assistance, housing assistance, food, clothing, and medical/health assistance.  Grants will be given to organizations whose main mission is providing aid and/or meeting the basic needs of people in the city of Alexandria.
