This summer, ACT and The Giving Circle of Alexandria are collaborating on an experimental campaign to find out how technology can inform busy people about needs in our community and provide easy ways to make a difference. Join us by ACTing Now!
Help keep an Alexandria child out of the emergency room with an inexpensive gift of Pedialyte. The Alexandria Neighborhood Health Services, Inc. (ANHSI) is in need of 8 ounce bottles of Pedialyte to distribute to parents who cannot afford to purchase it for their children. Help a veteran in need by providing transportation to the VA Hospital. ACT now by donating a $10 Metro Farecard to the Lazarus Project. If you are taking Metro this week, buy an extra Farecard and mail or drop it off to Christ Church, 118 North Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Help single-parent families in need feed their children by donating bread and milk to Community Lodgings. When you go to the grocery store this week, pick up some extra bread and milk and drop it off to Community Lodgings in Arlandria. They will deliver this food to families who need it. Without school in session to help feed hungry children and with increasing need for emergency food assistance, your contributions of high protein food will make a positive difference to someone in Alexandria. When you go to the drug store or Target this week, pick up some Infant and Children's Tylenol and drop it by the Alexandria Neighborhood Health Services, Inc.
