Alexandria Board Leadership Exchange (ABLE)

Effective leadership can be the single most important factor in the success of an organization. Recognizing the need to create a stronger and more empowered community through effective board and commission leadership, the ACT for Alexandria, in partnership with Leadership Alexandria and Volunteer Alexandria created the Alexandria Board Leadership Exchange (ABLE).

In addition to energizing, educating, and engaging community members, ABLE:

• Provides fundamental knowledge about effective board leadership and access to training;
• Supports a vibrant network of members for sharing and learning;
• Fosters a dynamic environment for recruitment of volunteers for board service. 

ABLE will host three forums each year featuring case studies, methods, and tools for adopting best practices of effective organizations.
