Conflict, Consensus, and Effective Board Governance, Getting it Right
Every board will experience conflict amongst its members and challenging economic times will force difficult decisions, making conflicts more acute. Effective boards will emerge from conflict stronger and better positioned to meet their mission. They have a culture that accepts conflict as a natural part of board governance and processes that move from conflict to meaningful consensus. Conflict adverse boards that rely on apathetic consensus will falter.
This program is designed to help board members and staff leadership take advantage of conflict at the board table to advance their organization’s mission. The speakers will discuss tools for managing and even inviting healthy conflict, avoiding unproductive conflict, and building meaningful consensus among board members.
