Our Impact

Center for Alexandria's Children

Center for Alexandria's Children logoIn 2008, there were 1,096 reports of child abuse and/or neglect in Alexandria.  These statistics do not take into account the number of cases that are never reported. The Center for Alexandria’s Children protects children and strengthens families by coordinating the investigation, prosecution, treatment and prevention of child abuse in one safe, child-friendly facility. The CAC is a public-private partnership dedicated to one purpose: the elimination of child abuse in the City of Alexandria.

Spring2ACTion - Raise Money & Awareness for Your Nonprofit
alt

ACT & ACTion Alexandria are very excited to invite you to participate in Spring2ACTion, an innovative community-wide fundraising event that will help nonprofits reach new donors and increase giving through a fun and engaging online campaign.

Spring2ACTion will leverage ACTion Alexandria’s ability to mobilize Alexandria citizens into action on behalf of local nonprofit organizations, by creating a three day, city-wide virtual giving event that will overlay Spring for Alexandria, May 5-7, 2011.

Spring2ACTion will help Alexandrians find, learn about and contribute to local nonprofits by facilitating quick and easy online donations – through one central portal during the 3-day period.

Convio named Alexandria the Most Generous Online City for the third year in a row, so Alexandria is the ideal location for a citywide online fundraiser. The Minnesota Community Foundation held a statewide online fundraising event called Give to the Max Day and raised over $10M. IN ONE DAY! Visit www.givemn.org to learn more about what they did. Our goal for this pilot program is to raise $100,000 for nonprofits and engage at least 1,500 individuals to give.

ACTion Alexandria, Razoo, and Small Act provided training sessions on how to create profile pages, secure matching grants, maximize a nonprofit organization’s participation, and promote the campaign using social media.
