Center for Alexandria's Children logoIn 2008, there were 1,096 reports of child abuse and/or neglect in Alexandria.  These statistics do not take into account the number of cases that are never reported. The Center for Alexandria’s Children protects children and strengthens families by coordinating the investigation, prosecution, treatment and prevention of child abuse in one safe, child-friendly facility. The CAC is a public-private partnership dedicated to one purpose: the elimination of child abuse in the City of Alexandria.

Start Your Legacy of Giving & Set up a Founding Fund

In celebration of ACT's 5th year anniversary in 2009, we will be recognizing all donors who set up a fund at ACT by November 2009 as a Founding Fund, to designate their early and essential commitment to ACT, Alexandria's own community foundation. 

Founding Funds will receive:

  • Designation on printed materials (newsletters, annual reports) as a Founding Fund
  • Listing on ACT's website as a Founding Fund
  • Advance notice of special events
  • Donor exclusive events (donor education sessions, community needs conversations, etc.)
  • Recognition at ACT's Founding Funds Event in November 2009
