The Giving Circle of Alexandria
The Giving Circle is a diverse group of women who are invested and engaged in their community. They believe that confronting the City’s high priority issues collectively and strategically is the best means to inspire social change. With an annual matching grant of $25,000, ACT has helped The Giving Circle increase their membership and impact around early childhood education. In 2009, ACT and The Giving Circle co-invested in a city-wide playgroup initiative to expand a collaborative playgroup model around the City.

The Center for Alexandria's Children (CAC) is hosting their 2nd Annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 19th from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Family Fun Day is the CAC's effort to not only provide quality, cost free family time, but also to provide resources and information regarding health, safety, housing, education and support resources from the City's agencies and nonprofits. The event is completely free and provides family activities, entertainment and healthy food. The event will be at John Adams Elementary School, 5651 Rayburn Ave, Alexandria, VA.
About the Center for Alexandria's Children The Center for Alexandria’s Children protects children and strengthens families by coordinating the investigation, prosecution, treatment and prevention of child abuse in one safe, child-friendly facility. We are a public-private partnership dedicated to one purpose: the elimination of child abuse in the City of Alexandria. Using a multidisciplinary approach and the proven Children’s Advocacy Center Model, we can and will work together to ensure that all children in the City of Alexandria have the safe, happy childhoods that they deserve. www.centerforalexandriaschildren.org |
