  • Helping people who care about Alexandria amplify the impact of their giving.
  • Supporting the critical programs and services of Alexandria nonprofits.
  • Working with members of the community to develop solutions for Alexandria’s most pressing challenges.

Partnership and Collaboration Workshop

If the current environment has taught us anything, it’s that we shouldn’t go it alone. We are stronger together – supporting one another and leaning into our networks. Organizationally, exploring possible channels of partnership and collaboration can bring great benefit to any nonprofit organization. Many of us though, while we love the idea of partnership, aren’t quite sure how to go about these conversations or how to evaluate the business impact. We know we want to increase productivity without overextending ourselves financially, but we aren’t sure what opportunities exist in our sector. Join us for an interactive discussion to explore what partnering could look like to alleviate stress, balance our workloads, and explore collaborative partnership opportunities with like-minded organizations.

This two-part workshop will take place on January 7 from 10 - noon and January 27 from 9:30-11. Click here to learn more and to register.

Alexandria Executive Director Roundtable Conversations

We all know that the best-laid plans can go astray, and most of us have seen this play out in an organizational context this year. We struggle to translate theory and knowledge into the practice of inspiring people, to help our organizations realize a larger impact in the community, and to facilitate change with an eye toward improved performance. These facilitated discussions are meant to be a safe space for Executive Directors to come together to discuss the highs and lows experienced in supporting their staff, strategies for dealing with operational and strategic changes, and resources to explore future planning.

This two-part series will take place on December 16 from 9:30am - 11am and January 12 from 9:30-11am. By signing up for the December 16 session, you will be registered for the January 12 session too. Executive Directors are strongly encouraged to attend both sessions. The first session will help determine the content for the second one. Click here to learn more and to register.

The Roots - Unpacking Race & Racism in Everyday Terms

In this virtual webinar, we will explore key concepts to help participants develop and enhance their understanding of race and racism as constructs and how these constructs are used as structural and societal barriers. Participants will be introduced to the historical, cultural and operational analysis of racism. Additionally, this session will examine how individuals are socialized in racialized environments and how identity influences responses to benefits and consequences of racial-cultural social systems. Participants will be provided with a review of key racial equity grounding terms to aid in their understanding. This session is presented by the Equity Through Action and sponsored by Dyson Capital.
This workshop will be presented on two dates - Friday, December 18 from 10am - 1pm and Monday, January 25 from 10am - 1pm. Please select the date you would like to attend. A link to the Zoom webinar will be shared prior to the event. Click here to learn more and to register.
