ABOUT

Date: 10/03/2024 - 10/03/2024

Time: 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

The ACT Program Team started Coffee & Conversation in 2022 as a way to connect with our nonprofit partners out in the community. We’ve hosted open “office hours” and conversations around different topics like racial equity and trust-based philanthropy all around the city. These sessions are a casual way for us to connect with you and hear what’s on your mind and share what’s on ours.

Our upcoming in-person event on Thursday, October 3 will focus on Organizational Resilience. We’ll hear from a panel of speakers including Heather Jelks, Nautilus Consulting, Barbara McLaughlin, Child & Family Network Centers, and Whitney Parnell, Service Never Sleeps. Our panelists will share ways they are navigating challenges and building resilience, care and rest into their teams and organizations.

We also want to hear how you are building resilience and navigating the fiscal cliff/ending of COVID relief funding, staff turnover and burnout, and other disruptions that are affecting your organization and team. Let’s talk about what’s working and share new ideas! This conversation will help kick-off ACT’s capacity building grant program focused on Organizational Resilience. The grant application will launch on Tuesday, October 8 and we will host a virtual Info Session at 9am.

You and your organizations make Alexandria a better place! Let’s connect and support one another as we ensure Alexandria is a vibrant and equitable community where everyone can thrive…including our nonprofit leaders!

We will meet on Thursday, October 3 from 9-10:30am at ALX Community Waterfront, coffee and light snacks will be provided.
