SUPPORT ACT’S INITIATIVES
Alexandria Resilience Fund
The Alexandria Resilience Fund was created to respond to community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Funded by the CARES Act, the Alexandria Resilience Fund is a partnership between the City of Alexandria and ACT for Alexandria, the city’s community foundation. Thousands of Alexandrians, local businesses, congregations, and the City provided more than $5.76M in COVID-19 emergency support. The Alexandria Resilience Fund is now allocating $25,000 for Mini-Grants to assist with COVID-19 vaccine outreach and awareness-building activities across communities in Alexandria. Investing in outreach to specific populations is necessary as language, literacy, and technology barriers pose a challenge for many community members to understanding the benefits of the vaccine and accessing and navigating the registration and appointment system.
Racial Equity Capacity Building Initiative
Support ACT’s commitment to a vibrant community for all and our work convening community conversations, providing capacity grants, professional development training, and other resources to help individuals and organizations advance racial equity in Alexandria.
Youth Support Network
Support the development of a Youth Support Network centering equity, ultimately strengthening a coordinated and aligned out-of-school time network and educational ecosystem for children and families in Alexandria.
