Overview

Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s Giving Day, is a 24-hour online event that provides a simple way to connect donors to the charitable causes they care about most and encourages them to take action. For the past 15 years, Alexandrians have come together to show their support for the community they love. Since 2011, more than 75,000 generous donors have given nearly $26M to 200 nonprofits through Spring2ACTion. In 2025, 7,949 donors gave $3.1M to 193 nonprofits serving Alexandria!

The vision of Spring2ACTion is a community where everyone contributes to our nonprofit organizations. There are three primary goals:

Grow philanthropy – Create a fun and engaging way to learn about the critical issues impacting our community and inspire people to give
Grow revenue – Bring new donors and develop a new funding stream to the organizations that make our community and its future strong
Grow supporters – Educate the community on the positive impact Alexandria’s nonprofit organizations have on their lives.

We’re moving to a new platform!
We’re excited to partner with MightyCause, a trusted provider for giving days across the country. The new platform offers a fresh look, easy profile editing, stronger reporting, and enhanced fundraising tools!

For Nonprofits:
Your profile and the past three years of giving day data will be transferred. Please log into GiveGab by October 31 to export any information you’d like to keep for your records. Also, registration on MightyCause opens in January. To support your success, ACT will provide toolkits, training sessions, outreach support, media coverage, and extensive social media promotion. Each nonprofit will have its own web page to highlight its mission and compete for prizes throughout the giving day.

For Donors:
No action is needed. Donor accounts will migrate securely, and you’ll log in with your current username (password reset required) to see your giving history.
